Why bring in a contractor instead of hiring an event manager?+
Because the event is finite and the overhead of a permanent role isn't. You get a senior person for exactly as long as the work runs, with nothing to carry once it's done, and no recruiting for a seat you may not need year-round.
Do you only work with non-profits and faith-based organisations?+
That's where most of my work sits, and where I'm most useful. I've run events for World Vision, Laidlaw College, Parenting Place, NZ Women in Medicine and others. If your kaupapa is for-purpose, we'll get on well.
Where are you based, and do you travel?+
I'm based in Auckland and work across Aotearoa, remotely and on-site. Recent events have taken me to Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch.
What does working with you cost?+
It depends on the size and length of the event, and I'll give you a clear scope before we start. I work short or long term, and most clients find a senior contractor costs less than carrying a permanent role.
How do I know you'll deliver?+
Ask the people I've worked with. References are the reason most of my work comes by word of mouth, and you can see recent projects on the work page.
How far ahead do you need to come on board?+
The earlier the better, but I've been brought in as little as four months out from a complex, multi-venue conference and still delivered one of its best years in two decades.
